Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, registering, or using the TicketCat mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
About TicketCat
TicketCat is a Ghanaian event ticketing platform that connects event attendees with event organizers. We facilitate ticket sales but are not the organizer of events listed on the platform.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use TicketCat. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
Your phone number will be used as a primary identifier and must be valid and reachable in Ghana (+233 format).
You may not share your account with other persons.
Ticket Purchases
a) Pricing and Fees
All ticket prices are displayed in Ghana Cedis (GHS). A service fee is added to each ticket and is shown clearly before you confirm payment. Prices are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
b) Service Fee Structure
TicketCat charges organizers a commission on ticket sales. The fee is absorbed into the ticket price where applicable. Specific fee rates are disclosed to organizers at the point of listing.
c) Payment Methods
We accept MTN Mobile Money, Vodafone Cash, AirtelTigo Money, and debit/credit cards via Paystack. You authorize us to charge the selected payment method for the total amount shown at checkout.
d) Confirmation
Upon successful payment, you will receive a ticket with a unique event-prefixed code (e.g. AF-XXXXXXXX). This code is your proof of entry. Keep it private — sharing it may allow someone else to use your ticket.
Ticket Validity and Entry
Tickets are valid only for the specific event, date, time, and gate stated on the ticket.
Each ticket can only be scanned once. Duplicate or previously scanned tickets will be rejected.
TicketCat is not responsible if you are denied entry due to a ticket that has already been used, transferred, or is invalid.
TicketCat scanning staff will verify your ticket at the gate using our scanner app.
Ticket Transfers
You may transfer a ticket to another TicketCat user through the in-app transfer feature. Transfers are processed on our servers and are final. Once a transfer is completed:
The recipient becomes the valid ticket holder.
The original ticket in your account is invalidated.
TicketCat retains a record of the transfer history.
Transfers are subject to event organizer policies. Some events may restrict transfers.
P2P Marketplace
a) Listing a Ticket
You may list a ticket you own for resale through the TicketCat marketplace. By listing, you confirm you are the legitimate owner and that the ticket has not been used, transferred, or otherwise invalidated.
b) Seller Fees
TicketCat deducts a platform commission of 10% of the listing price from the seller's payout, with a minimum fee of GH₵ 5. The buyer pays the full asking price with no additional buyer-side fee.
c) Wallet Purchases
Buyers may purchase P2P listings using their TicketCat wallet balance. The transaction is instant and final — the ticket is transferred immediately and the asking price is debited from the buyer's wallet.
d) Finality of Sales
All P2P marketplace sales are final. TicketCat retains a record of the buyer identity, seller identity, sale price, and sale timestamp for dispute resolution purposes.
e) Price Limits
Listings must respect the price floor set by the event organizer. TicketCat reserves the right to remove listings that violate pricing rules or appear fraudulent.
Organizer Blast Messages
TicketCat provides two types of blast messaging for organizers. All blast messages are limited to 120 characters, capped at one send per 24-hour period, and reviewed by TicketCat before delivery.
a) Ticket Holder Blasts
Organizers may send direct messages to all ticket holders for their specific event. Each organizer is allocated 3 ticket holder blast slots per event, included at no charge. These are intended for relevant event updates — schedule changes, venue updates, last-minute announcements, and similar.
b) General Blasts
Organizers may also send a general blast to all TicketCat users across the platform. A fee applies per general blast, payable via Paystack. Blasts rejected for content violations are refunded.
c) Organizer Responsibilities
Organizers are solely responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of all blast messages. Attendees who purchase a ticket agree to receive ticket holder blasts for that event.
d) Prohibited Message Content
Blast messages may not contain:
Offensive, abusive, or discriminatory language
Spam, off-platform contact requests, or unrelated solicitations
False or misleading event information
Content unrelated to the event or the TicketCat platform
Refunds and Cancellations
a) Attendee-Initiated Cancellations
Ticket purchases are generally non-refundable once payment is confirmed, unless the event is cancelled or significantly changed by the organizer.
b) Organizer-Initiated Cancellations
If an event is cancelled by the organizer, TicketCat will facilitate refunds in accordance with the organizer's refund policy. Refunds will be processed to your original payment method.
c) Event Changes
If an event is rescheduled or significantly changed, TicketCat will notify you via SMS or push notification. Refund eligibility in such cases is determined by the organizer's policy.
Free Events
Listing a free event on TicketCat may be subject to a listing fee as determined by the organizer's account tier. Attendees pay nothing for free event tickets; however, TicketCat may collect basic registration information for free events.
Organizer Responsibilities
Event organizers are solely responsible for:
The accuracy of event information (date, time, venue, lineup)
Delivering the event as described
Handling disputes with attendees arising from the event itself
Ensuring blast messages are accurate, event-relevant, and compliant with TicketCat's content policy
TicketCat is a platform intermediary and is not liable for organizer conduct.
Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
Purchase tickets with fraudulent payment methods
Attempt to resell tickets at inflated prices outside of TicketCat's official resale features
Tamper with, duplicate, or share ticket QR codes to gain unauthorized entry
Use automated bots or scripts to purchase tickets
Impersonate another user or organizer
Send blast messages containing prohibited content, spam, or off-platform solicitations
Use the platform for any unlawful purpose under Ghanaian law
Violations may result in account suspension, ticket invalidation, and referral to law enforcement.
Intellectual Property
All content on the TicketCat platform, including the app design, logo, and codebase, is the property of TicketCat. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, TicketCat is not liable for:
Loss or theft of your ticket after delivery
Event cancellations, delays, or changes by organizers
Failure of mobile money or card payment networks
Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Ghanaian courts.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via push notification or in-app message. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
